4-Week Song (July 2024)

Service Description

Join us for a 4-week songwriting and production class with award winning songwriter and composer, Melody Bell, where we bring your musical ideas to life. In the first week, we'll work together to write your song and learn songwriting techniques. Then, during weeks 2-4, we'll head to Logic, GarageBand or BandLab to bring that song to life in a way that's uniquely you. By the end of 4 weeks, you'll have all the tools to reproduce the same process with other songs on your own. Let's make your musical vision a reality that you can share with others. This is an online class with limited in person seating Starting July 13th-August 3rd Saturday's from 4:30-7:30 PM Class Requirements: * A basic knowledge or understanding of what chords and a melody are * A phone, tablet, or computer to attend the class on that you are familiar with * Logic, GarageBand, or a BandLab account (free online software) * A webcam with a mic to attend class on. Headphones with a mic work great. * Ideas and lyrics if you want to create your own song * Pen and paper to take note during class To prepare, and for easier learning: * Have a computer available to follow along and work on, while attending class on your tablet or phone. * The class material can be printed at home or by downloading and printing elsewhere. * Have a room where you can close the door and be free form distractions during class time * Give yourself 3-4 hours between classes to work on the assignments for your song. If you are not able to commit, you can still benefit from the class, but may simply take longer than 4 weeks to complete all the steps for your song. * Open the Google Classroom link and get familiar with it as you will be accessing the class material, assignments, and communicating between classes there.
